Membership

• Full Member: An engineering graduate/student member who would be expected to attend at least three meetings a year and is a voting member of the Organization.

• Associate Member: An engineering/student member who would not normally be expected to attend Organization meetings, and does not have voting rights at Organization meetings.

Members Responsibilities

 Board of Trustees 

• Overseers of the Organization

• Strategic Planning

• Provide Governance to the Organization

• Ensuring Compliance to Laws and Regulations

• Must serve at least on one committee

• Formulate Key Policies to achieve stated Vision and Mission

• Help resolve conflicts within the Organization

Chairman 

• Responsible for leading the Organization

• Focus on Strategic Matters

• Planning of Meetings and Setting of Agendas (including meetings locations)

• Communicate with Board of Trustees on Strategic Matters and Regulations

• Work with Recording Secretary on the Meetings Minutes and Distribution

• Allow everyone a chance to participate

• Make sure goals and objectives are being met

• Start and end meetings on time

• Summarize the group’s discussions

• Approval of Previous Minutes

Vice-Chairman 

• Will assist the Chairman with his/her duties

• When the Chairman is absent, the Vice-Chairman will fulfill his/her duties

 Recording Secretary 

• Work with the Chairman on the Meetings Minutes and Distribution

• Present the Previous Meetings Minutes for Approval

• Documents the main ideas of discussion, issues raised, decisions made, action items and future agenda items

• Keeping a current calendar for the Organization

• Participate as a member

Members 

• Contribute as fully as possible, sharing your knowledge and expertise

• Share your point of view, engineers thrive on an exchange of ideas

• Actively participate in all meetings and discussions

• Contribute, but not monopolize, meetings and discussions

• Ask questions - to clearly understand the process

• Have genuine interest in pursuing the Vision and Mission of the Organization

• Stay familiar with the Organization’s Vision, Mission, Behaviors, Norms and Responsibilities

• Willing to support, assist, and Mentor other engineers

• A team player willing to complete assignments/tasks properly and on time
